Thursday ....

Somewhere I remember seeing a card very similar to this. I liked that the focal point was offset and going off the page. I did mine a bit differently, but the inspiration card is out there.

I inked up the main image (background for "thank you") using Island Indigo on the outside portion, and Pool Party in the center. I then spritzed it with a fine mist of water to make the two colors mix at the meet point. I love the effect!

I wanted to put a party hat on Mr. Bird but ran out of room.

I can see using this combination for tons of cards.

Temporary Change

For the next week or 10 days

I will be working on a new project.

After the ugly card episode I decided to work on entries for

Stampin; Up! Artisan Award (DT)

I know, I know, call me crazy!

 I have zero expectations of winning or even being a finalist,

but I thought it might be a good way to challenge myself

and get that creative mojo back.

In the past few days, I have found that sometimes I will make a card

that will lead to something else....

I may submit that something else but not the lead up project.

Make sense?

Anyway, I will share with you the lead up projects during the next week or so, instead of my regular projects or challenges.

Eventually, you will get to see all of the projects,

but not until the contest is over.

Here is my first warm-up card:

I know this is just too plain to be considered for the Artisan submission,

but I wanted to do something with black and a neutral.

The card that followed was a bit over the top with details, at least for my taste.

I will submit the detailed card. :-)

I am not sure this card photographs as well as it looks in person.

The Poppy and Pumpkin look so saturated with the black mat on the Limeade background.

I made a dozen or so of these for my downline and a few other wonderful 

people I wanted to thank.

I love how simple this card is, but the few details are special and I think they are enough.

I love the way this card turned out.

ColourQ #123

This was not an easy combo for me. I actually made two cards. My son, gave the first one a thumbs down. So, yesterday I worked on this second card. I didn't show it to my son, in case he gave me another thumbs down. LOL!

I do like the layered detail of the flowers. There are three different layers. 

I stamped the flowers in Regal Rose and Peach Parfait directly on the Whisper White base

I then cut out a bunch of flowers and adhered the next layer using glue dots,

which gave it just a teeny bit of a raised look

Lastly, I put the last layer on dimensionals.

I will use this again on another card.

The stamp set will be in the new main catalog released in June 

the set is called Everything Eleanor.
