Trending Tuesday #36 Halloween Fun Fold Card

Did you see yesterday's post about the Heritage Room at the Home Office?
http://joansdailystampede.blogspot.com/2012/07/mojo-monday-252-call-for-your-help-and.html

Do you want to see more of the Heritage Room?
I took a lot of pictures (because there were a ton of amazing ideas)
and am happy to share if there is interest.
Don't want to bore you with my pictures if there isn't any interest. :-)

Mojo Monday #252 , a Call for Your Help, and My Video Diary of Convention

I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I think the flavor is still there.
What a fun and versatile sketch!

Supplies:
  • Early Espresso CS, Whisper White CS, International Bazaar DSP
  • Friendship Preserves Stamp Set
  • Early Espresso Marker, Pacific Point Marker
  • Brushed Bronze Designer Buttons, Big Shot, Fancy Fan EF, Window Frames Collection Framelits, 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon Pacific Point

This is a plea for your help!

While I was at the home office, I toured this fabulous room that had several different vignettes, all designed and decorated using SU products. At the very end, there was this tiny vignette that had a writing desk and a small wall display.

Want to see?

I fell in love with the wall treatment and the images on the fabric for the desk chair.
The next day, I found myself behind Stampin’ Up! President, Rich Jutkins and his lovely wife. I asked him about the room, and who I would ask to find out how they did it.
His answer: Amy Yingling
I found Amy later that afternoon and she told me she had done that vignette herself, and she too loved it. She had created a stencil from our En Francais background stamp and used it on the wall and fabric.
My heart sank.
But then Amy said that she thought perhaps this could be something SU offered if there was enough interest in it (not just the half dozen of us at convention that tracked her down).

I believe in the power of the internet!

Here is where I need your help…

If this is something you or your customers might be interested in, please take a moment and email Amy and let her know!

And yes, I asked Amy if I could do this first ;-)

Christmas in July ...Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Inspiration

I love how simple this card is, but it is so beautiful too.
I used Chocolate Chip CS, Brushed Gold CS, Very Vanilla CS, and Candlelight Christmas DSP.
I used my big shot and Lace Brocade Embossing Folder.
I fussy cut the Cherry Cobbler Star and popped it up on a dimensional.
The "tree" is stamped in Chocolate Chip (from Evergreen Stamp Set) and that piece is also up on dimensionals.
Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! Christmas in July - day 2

Love this card!
One of the things I enjoy most about a catalog CASE is that I am forced into the little details that don't come naturally to me.
The subtle zig-zag edge over the edgelit detail and adding the bit of bakers twine with the cardstock in the ribbon slide -LOVE the attention to details the sample makers have.

I will add a few more from the display boards along with my Christmas in July...

Christmas in July.... Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog Inspirations

I made this card before I left for convention. My intention was to use them this week (M-F) on my blog.
Instead I tried to share the project boards from convention.
I should have stayed with my first thought.
Seems it was too difficult to see for most of you, sorry about that.
My only suggestion would be to use your control & "+" to enlarge your screen or
save the picture to your computer and see if you can enlarge with your photo editing software.
I cropped as much as I could and made them as large as I could on the blog.

Anyway, this Christmas in July is what I had planned to share...
The cards are all inspired by the Holiday Catalog which will be available in just a few days.
Most of the cards I will share are not exact copies but me using what I had to re-create the same look as the catalog sample.
I love this stamp set and I have used it a lot this week.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!!

Idea Boards from Stampin' Up! 2012 Convention

I realize some of these are not as sharp as others. I did my best :-)
I do have pictures of all the display boards so those of you who were not able to attend convention,
can check out all the samples too!
I also have a video diary I kept during convention.
I am working on editing it.
There is a special project that I need your help with... look for it next week sometime.
Thanks for stopping by and have a Terrific Tuesday!

Stampin Up boards at convention

Here are just a few of the display boards...

I snapped a picture of every board while at 2012 Stampin' Up! Convention

I loved that they were grouped by colors

Let me know if the pictures are too small.

I will continue to post some everyday.

All good things have to come to an end....

Karen and Jeanne outside the convention center - it was a beautiful day!

This is Joann Ricardi. I met her in class and after in the gathering place.
We chatted for some time and eventually I asked her my burning question...
Are you ever called "Joan" rather than "Joann"?
I explained that I am frequently called Joann Robinson rather than my name which is Joan Robertson.
She laughed and said she gets "Joan Ricardo" LOL
We shared our frustration and I had to laugh.
She was sweet. :-)

Holly.
My favorite new friend.
You will see her again in my video once I get home and edit the whole thing.
Don't worry it has tons of SU stuff not just personal friends and hanging out.

We were given (and we purchased) so much stuff that we went in search of a bigger suitcase for Karen.
Yup, had to buy a big suitcase to bring home all the loot. :-)

I guess in every city you can find some odd thing that they do that you have never seen before.
This was it for me.
These signs are not at intersections but mid-way on a block and people just walk out.
I witnessed several cars slamming on their breaks to make sure they don't hit these folks.
It was strange... and a bit scary, too.

For now, I am killing time until my plane leaves and I return home.
My friends left early and I am alone.
It has been a great 1st convention.
I am looking forward to Leadership!
