This was supposed to be my Sunday Quick Card but I had a guest artist that day. I love the simplicity of this card and just wanted to post it.
I believe one shouldn't have to work or cook supper on their birthday. So in honor of my own special day, I will have a guest artist's card for my feature card today!
This was the first birthday card I received this year. I have had a BIG smile on my face since the day it arrived. Someone I love knows that I love pigs and she made me this BEAUTIFUL card.
Today's guest artist is my niece, Rachel (age 6) :-)
Isn't Rachel the best, most crafty niece EVER? Love you Rachie Rach!!
This week has been a rough and busy one, so I am just keeping it simple this week. I couldn't think of any tips or techniques so I just made cards to share with you. I hope that is okay.

Starting today until Nov. 30, you have an incredible opportunity to purchase a Stampin' Up! Starter Kit for $87.50 (1/2 off the regular price of $175). The kit includes over $300 worth of products (and free shipping) with many substitution options available.
Today's tip: take a simple stamped image and dress it up. I couldn't find anything more simple that a tree stamp. I dressed it up with mats, patterned paper, a wide ribbon, and just a touch of bling.
I used: Paper: Cherry Cobbler CS #119685, Basic Black CS #121045, Whisper White CS #100730, Basic Grey Figgy Pudding- non SU Stamps: Lovely as a Tree #115026, Small Script -retired Ink: Always Artichoke #105219, Basic Black #101179 Other: Scallop Trim Border Punch #118402, Stampin Up Black Organdy ribbon- retired, Dimentionals #104430

Today's technique is about creating an aged look by using layers. This was a fun card to make because it was easy. You don't have to be perfect when you are trying to achieve this look. So Saffron and a sponge were the key to getting an aged look. The edges had the added colors of Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, and Chocolate Chip.
The three stamp sets I used are perfect for this type of project.
I used: Paper: Cherry Cobbler CS #119685, Basic Black CS #121045, Very Vanilla CS #101650 Stamps: Artistic Etchings #120573, French Foliage #121166, En Francais #109521 Ink: So Saffron #105213, Sahara Sand #105208, Soft Suede #115657, Chocolate Chip #100908, Cherry Cobbler #119669, Versamark #102283 Other: Gold Embossing Powder #109129, Black Embossing Powder #109133, Sponge #101610, Dimentionals #104430, Organdy Ribbon-retired, Embossing Buddy #103083
Today's tip won't be much of a tip for some of you, but for those of you that don't like things wonky and adore symmetry, it may just change your life (just kidding).
I had this card I wanted to copy but I needed a diagonally striped paper with multiple colors. I didn't have any that would work. Besides I really wanted to use Elegant Soiree DSP. Then like a flash of lightening it hit me, I could make my own diagonally striped paper by simply cutting my striped paper on a diagonal.
I did say in the beginning of this post, this wouldn't be much of a tip for some of you ;-)
Anyway, I gave myself permission to cut the paper wonky and make it work for what I needed.
I spent way too much time on this card, so it isn't a favorite but it turned out okay.
