Inspiration....

There is a long on-going debate in the crafting world about CASEing work (CASE= Copy And Share Everything). There are folks in the camp that believe they create unique works of art and should be treated as the artists they are and so on and so forth.

And then there is the other camp (the one I am solidly in and always have been), that believes we are in a business built on CASEing and that is how our business and our own personal skills grow.

I love to draw and create with pastels in addition to cards and scrapbooking. In all of my art/drawing classes we have a still life to look at. All of us in the class are drawing the same subject but our point of view is different. Additionally, we often admire a style or period of art/painting. I love impressionists. Impressionism was poo-poo'd when if first appeared. It wasn't considered serious art. I love that many of the early impressionists were friends. They certainly CASEd a new style of painting from one another.

What I have for you today is a CASE from Teneale Williams. She totally inspires me and I become a bit better at making cards after re-creating some of her cards. Just like artists who re-produce a master to learn skills and gain understanding of style, I do the same with card makers I admire.

This is not the first CASE I have done from Teneale. She has been sweet and gracious about my CASEing in the past. Please pop on over to her blog and see why I find her so inspiring. TENEAL'S BLOG If I ever make it to Sydney, I am going to try to go to one of her classes!

Anyway, that was sort of a long post but there you have it....

I took the extra parts left over from the front of the card and used them to finish off the inside of the card. Teneal's cards look as good on the inside as they do on the front!

Supplies:
  • Whisper White CS, Old Olive CS, Marina Mist CS, Early Espresso CS, First Edition DSP
  • Field Flowers stamp set, French Foliage stamp set
  • Sahara Sand Ink Pad, Marina Mist Ink Pad, Old Olive Marker, Early Espresso Ink Pad
  • Stamping Sponges, Big Shot, Tulip Frame EF, Old Olive Satin Ribbon (nla), Dimensionals

This card is beautiful. Love the colors and the fact that you CASE'd. I am in the same camp as you with the copy and share.

Thanks for providing the link to Teneale's. I checked it out and it is amazing.
I also agree that learning from other people's work is inspiring!

I love this card and I totally agree with you about CASEing. Your comments made me think of the film, Midnight in Paris.
