Technique Thursday

While I was preparing this week's Step It UP! projects for the video, I messed up the image.
I was frustrated with myself and didn't want to re-do the whole thing. So I attempted to fix or cover up my mistake.
First, I should explain that I stamped this image and then painted the flowers with an aquapainter. The aquapainter was too wet, and the details in flowers blurred.

I started by using the fine point end of the marker to add some definition to the image. While it did improve the image, it still looked like I was trying to fix the blur.
The solution?
One of my favorite SU products...Dazzling Diamonds.
I outlined the image and blurred areas with 2-way glue, and then applied dazzling diamonds.
You can't see the sparkle in this photo but hopefully it will be visable in the video.
This is a sneak peek for Step It Up! Saturday:

I used:
Stamps: Elements of Style #120045 clear #118611 wood, Bella Toile #111598
Paper: Marina Mist #119682, Basic Black #121045, Whisper White #100730
Ink: Marina Mist Pad #119668, Marker #119679, Certainly Celery Marker #105106, Garden Green Marker #100080, Bashful Blue Marker #105111, Versamark #102283
Other: Square Lattice Embossing Folders #119976, SU Organdy Black (retired), gems (non-su), 2-Way Glue Pen #100425, Dazzling Diamonds #102023

What a fantastic idea! See, now I would have just thrown it away because I messed up. Then I would have been mad because it would have felt like I wasted time and paper. But with this tip, I could embrace my mistake and make it sparkle!

Great idea...like making lemonade when you are given lemons.
