Inspiration....

There is a long on-going debate in the crafting world about CASEing work (CASE= Copy And Share Everything). There are folks in the camp that believe they create unique works of art and should be treated as the artists they are and so on and so forth.

And then there is the other camp (the one I am solidly in and always have been), that believes we are in a business built on CASEing and that is how our business and our own personal skills grow.

I love to draw and create with pastels in addition to cards and scrapbooking. In all of my art/drawing classes we have a still life to look at. All of us in the class are drawing the same subject but our point of view is different. Additionally, we often admire a style or period of art/painting. I love impressionists. Impressionism was poo-poo'd when if first appeared. It wasn't considered serious art. I love that many of the early impressionists were friends. They certainly CASEd a new style of painting from one another.

What I have for you today is a CASE from Teneale Williams. She totally inspires me and I become a bit better at making cards after re-creating some of her cards. Just like artists who re-produce a master to learn skills and gain understanding of style, I do the same with card makers I admire.

This is not the first CASE I have done from Teneale. She has been sweet and gracious about my CASEing in the past. Please pop on over to her blog and see why I find her so inspiring. TENEAL'S BLOG If I ever make it to Sydney, I am going to try to go to one of her classes!

Anyway, that was sort of a long post but there you have it....

I took the extra parts left over from the front of the card and used them to finish off the inside of the card. Teneal's cards look as good on the inside as they do on the front!

Step It Up! Saturday #69

You may recognize this card.
I did use step #2 card as my flat card Friday card last week.
I found myself wanting to do more to the flat card so I decided that it would make a good card for step it up!
I created two more cards ... a step #1 and a step #3
It was actually a fun thing to do!
You should try it yourself sometime.

Flat Card Friday

It is time for FLAT CARD FRIDAY once again! Woo Hoo! A card that doesn't require more $$$ for postage :-D
I love purple and I hardly ever use it for cards. I think that needs to change.
I think next Saturday's Step It UP! will be based on this card here.
Stay tuned.

Step It UP! Saturday #61

These cards were inspired by a card by Carrie Gaskin. I used different colors and different stamps. I tweaked some of the details but it is clearly inspired by her card.
I had a great video to go along with it.
but it seems I am having a Charlie Brown day.
You know those days where it isn't any big thing going wrong, but every single little thing, that is a Charlie Brown day.
The video I shot earlier this week, and plays fine for me, won't upload.
It says the files are corrupted.
I didn't NOT want to post, but I can't get the video published.
Wish me better luck with the rest of my day :-)
