I would have never made THIS card had it not been for a challenge.

This layout is not something I would have come up with on my own.

I like the way it turned out.

That is what makes challenges so much fun!

I am always surprised by the results.

I don't always like the results, but I always learn something.

Mojo Monday #252 , a Call for Your Help, and My Video Diary of Convention

I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I think the flavor is still there.

This is a plea for your help!

While I was at the home office, I toured this fabulous room that had several different vignettes, all designed and decorated using SU products. At the very end, there was this tiny vignette that had a writing desk and a small wall display.

I fell in love with the wall treatment and the images on the fabric for the desk chair.

The next day, I found myself behind Stampin’ Up! President, Rich Jutkins and his lovely wife. I asked him about the room, and who I would ask to find out how they did it. 

His answer: Amy Yingling

I found Amy later that afternoon and she told me she had done that vignette herself, and she too loved it. She had created a stencil from our En Francais background stamp and used it on the wall and fabric. 

My heart sank.

But then Amy said that she thought perhaps this could be something SU offered if there was enough interest in it (not just the half dozen of us at convention that tracked her down).

I believe in the power of the internet!

I love this set. 

Normally with catalog preview items, I try to find a business justification to purchase a set.

This one I did just because I love it.

That is it.

Pure love.

When I saw this sketch, I knew it was a great way to start the week with my new stamp set and the perfect sketch to showcase the new set.

Don't you just love it with those sort of opportunities fall into place on a Monday morning?

I have to share something weird and funny (sort of). I had this dream last night that I used this stamp set, but I used the James Taylor quote stamp instead of the Charles Dickens quote.

Anyway, in the dream I made this card and posted it and then James Taylor died and it was my fault.

I am not sure how it was my fault, but in the dream it was clear that it was my fault for using this stamp and he died.

I am trying to fall in like with this new color, Summer Starfruit.

It reminds me of turn of the century (1900 - not 2000) wallpaper. 

This is my 1900 old wallpaper card LOL!

It is a bit over the top for my personal tastes, but hey, it is good to get out of our comfort zone and stretch from time to time.

At least that is what I am telling myself ;-)

Mojo Monday #242

This was made with my 2 favorite paper packs, Love Letters, and Newsprint.

I loved the papers last year.

Not near as much this year.

I think the difference was that all the prints in a pack worked well together and I could always tell from which pack they came.

This year there are mixes of papers that simply cannot be put together.

I prefer the "garanimal" paper packs. LOL!
