An extra post for some of my favorite Salt Lake City people...

Julio is the best waiter around.
I dare say, the perfect waiter.
Wish he would come back to Texas with us and I would frequent whatever establishment he worked
He added so much to the enjoyment of our breakfast at the Hilton

And Haydar...
This guy knows how to prepare the perfect omelet
AND... he is so sweet, he offers to bring it to your table so you don't have to stand and wait.
Love these guys!

Thanks for making our mornings start out perfectly!

Hilton folks, these guys are diamond employees!

I missed a day....

We got lucky and sat behind SU President, Rich Jutkins, in Friday morning's General Session.
I asked a lot of questions about the business and he was just so sweet about sharing.

This was from Thursday night's Awards Night
I filmed the whole experience and will put together a video when I get home.

We couldn't figure out who was taking the picture. I am looking at one camera, and Dawn is looking at the other.... LOL

We were waiting for the doors to open for General Session.
Some AMAZING work is posted on the display boards.
I will share more next week.
It is now time to get going for our last day

Day #1

On the bus going to tour the home office

Jeanne and Karen

The cleanest warehouse EVER!

The idea room is this large room where all the walls are white board.
We were encouraged to leave a message for our friends at the home office.
The above picture is what I left. :-)

These cute girls had the cutest bags. They just so sweet and we loved meeting them.

Everything is beautiful - the building, the grounds, every detail is thought out and just beautiful.

Mother nature did her part with the beautiful mountains surrounding the home office.

A few of my cards made it on the boards...

Here is one of my scrapbook pages that I forgot to get a picture of, I was glad to see it.

Got to run to a class this evening.

More tomorrow. :-)

Arrival into Salt Lake City

In my younger years, I worked for an airline and traveled a lot.
I would fly into New Orleans for lunch
I would take the last flight into Vegas, play nickle slots all night, catch the first flight home
After I married and had my first child, I just didn't fly.
From 1998-2011 I didn't fly
I remember that I loved flying because I always met someone interesting and heard their story.

This morning I noticed something else about travel that has changed...

Everyone was on some sort of device and it was odd that there wasn't a single conversation going on.
not one.

I didn't get a picture of the two guys on either side of me, but they too, were on a device of some kind.

Then I noticed the two older people in the group...
One with an old fashioned real newspaper
the other with a real paper magazine...

It struck me as so odd and a little funny.

We had a slight delay on the runway but other than that the flight was uneventful ...
and quiet.

I took Express Shuttle Utah to the hotel ... they were great!
And would you believe my room was ready for me at 8am?

This is the view from our room

I am charging my phone while I post and then I will head out to explore.

Jeanne will arrive in the next couple of hours
And Karen sometime this afternoon!

Wish you were here!

Halloween Boots

Love this fun Halloween boot!

The Natural Composition DSP is the common thread throughout these 4 cards in the Bootiful Occasions cards I am showing this week.
I wanted to show how versatile it can be.... from cowboy boots, rain boots, witches boots, to Victorian boots - this paper can work with them all!
I almost didn't order it because it looked sort-of yellow in the catalog.
I was afraid I couldn't match it.
It works well with crumb cake (shown here) and soft suede if you wanted a darker shade.
Supplies:
  • Basic Black CS, Crumb Cake CS, Natural Composition CS, Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP, Very Vanilla CS
  • Bootiful Occasions
  • Tangerine Tango, and Basic Black Markers
  • Aquapainter, Basic Rhinestones, Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals
